Resumo

The COVID-19 pandemic has significantly reshaped global digital innovation, acting as a catalyst for rapid technological advancement across various sectors. As society was forced to adapt to new challenges, digital tools became essential in facilitating remote work, online education, and digital commerce. The widespread use of smartphones and artificial intelligence helped track the spread of the virus and accelerate vaccine development. Despite these advancements, the pandemic also revealed significant disparities in access to technology, raising concerns about privacy and cybersecurity. This study examines the transformative impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on digital innovation, focusing on how it accelerated the adoption of technologies, created new opportunities, and highlighted challenges that need to be addressed to ensure a more inclusive and secure digital future. The main issue addressed in this study was: What is the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on global digital innovation ? To address this question, we employed a descriptive approach to define the concepts related to the study variables, and an analytical approach to clarify the impact the pandemic has had on digital innovation worldwide. The study reached several key findings, the most important of which is that the COVID-19 pandemic played a significant role in advancing digital innovation and increasing interest in its adoption across various sectors.
