Resumo

Originally, cookies were created in 1994 by Lou Montull(Albrecht, 2002) to maintain browsing sessions and facilitate access to the Internet. However, the rapid evolution of digital platforms and the growing need to share information are prompting in-depth reflection on the supervision of these flows. To examine their impact in Algeria, we have focused this in-depth analysis on a rigorous empirical methods approach, exploring their adaptation by marketing experts. It also focuses on one main groups: businesses users. The results reveal that Algerian companies recognize the importance of collecting information from third parties, particularly for advertising personalization and behavioral targeting. However, concerns about data confidentiality and recent technological developments raise questions about the future of their practices. On the user side, there is a growing awareness of the issues surrounding data collection. The practical implications of this study are numerous, not least the need for Algerian companies to adapt to digital market trends. Finally, this research stands out for its relevance, offering a unique perspective on how third-party cookies are perceived and used in Algeria.
