Abstract

Acne is a recurrent inflammatory clinical condition in the population. The use of intense pulsed light (IPL) is gaining ground in clinical protocols due to its versatility in contributing to the treatment of inflammatory conditions, as well as promoting skin lightening. This study evaluated the combined use of cosmetics with intense pulsed light in cases of acne. For this, photographic comparison of before and after results was used, as well as evaluation using Wood's light. The results demonstrated improvement in acne inflammation, tissue oiliness, and also lightening of the treated area. Therefore, it is possible to conclude that the treatment protocol using dermocosmetics associated with IPL is effective in reducing inflammatory acne and providing improvement in facial tissue.
