Abstract

Daily supplementation with ImmuneRecov® has been hypothesized to modulate inflammation and support immune balance in athletes. Preclinical evidence demonstrated that the same nutritional blend suppressed IL-1β and IL-6 while enhancing IL-10 and IFN-γ expression in bronchial epithelial cells exposed to SARS-CoV-2, reinforcing its potential immunomodulatory properties. This case report describes the effects of a four-month supplementation protocol in a recreational runner, with assessments of inflammatory biomarkers, muscle damage markers, hematological profile, body composition, and perceived effort. The intervention was associated with transient inflammatory peaks after intense training, followed by progressive increases in anti-inflammatory cytokines and normalization of hematological parameters, suggesting a modulatory effect of ImmuneRecov® on immune response and recovery. These findings support the plausibility of nutritional strategies targeting immune homeostasis in sports, though larger controlled studies are required.
