The success of chrysanthemum seed propagation through in vitro culture is highly determined by the culture medium used. The basic medium that is often used in plant propagation in vitro is Murashige and Skoog (MS) media, but due to the relatively expensive and difficult price of these media, it is necessary to modify using natural organic compounds. The use of Cavendish banana extract as an organic compound for the modification of tissue culture generic media is quite economical and practical as a substitute for nutrients and growth regulators from pure chemicals in an effort to meet the needs of macro and micro nutrients in MS media. The study used the Complete Random Design (CRD) method which consisted of one factor, namely the addition of several concentrations of banana extract as a treatment level on a 1/2 MS medium with 6 treatments. Each treatment was repeated 4 times with 6 samples per repeat. Each bottle contains 1 planlet, so the number of experimental units is 144 bottles. The treatment is a0 = MS; a1 = 1/2 MS + banana 50 g/l ; a2 = 1/2 MS + banana cavendish 100 g/l ; a3 = 1/2 MS + banana cavendish 150 g/l ; a4 = 1/2 MS + banana 200 g/l ; a5 = 1/2 MS + banana cavendish 250 g/l. The variables observed include: Time of First Bud Formation, Root Formation Time, Number of Leaves, Number of Shoots. The results showed that the addition of 50 g/l of cavendish banana extract to 1/2 MS medium gave the same effective results as the use of MS media for the time of the first bud emergence, the time of the second bud emergence, the number of buds, and the number of leaves. The concentration of 100 g/l of banana extract at 1/2 MS resulted in the fastest root emergence time.
