We can see the importance of monitoring both the mare and the fetus from the embryo's conception until its birth. Monitoring the mare's pregnancy through examinations such as ultrasound, hormonal measurement and physical examination, in addition to adequate nutrition for her condition, ensuring that all essential nutrients for her and the fetus are being injected and ensuring adequate health management to avoid possible problems. With this set of actions we can avoid several complications for the fetus and the mare, and later, for the foal after its birth. We observe post-birth care for the foal, taking into account pregnancy monitoring as well as health management, such as colostrum intake, which is so important for its immunity, the vaccination schedule, protection against ectoparasites and endoparasites, health management mainly with the umbilical cord and monitoring the foal's parameters in the first hours of life to avoid some of the main diseases that can affect them, thus being able to avoid most of the diseases that cause the death of these animals.
