Tratamento manipulativo osteopático em Unidade de Terapia Intensiva Neonatal / Osteopathic manipulative treatment in a neonatal intensive care unit

Os recém-nascidos prematuros e a termo em UTIN tem necessidade de alcançar não apenas a estabilidade clínica, mas também maturação de diversos sistemas orgânicos. Dentro desse contexto o tratamento osteopático manipulativo (OMT) nos primeiros dias de vida é fundamental na prevenção de assimetrias cranianas, tensões no nervo vago, refluxo, problemas de sono, irritabilidade e reduzindo tempo de hospitalização. Nesse artigo, foi revisada e sintetizada a literatura científica sobre a abordagem osteopática em UTIN a fim de formular recomendações para futuras pesquisas e práticas. Realizada busca de artigos em inglês e português nas bases de dados LILACS, SciELO e MedLine/PubMed, utilizaram-se as seguintes DeSC: Recém-Nascido Prematuro. Manipulações Musculoesqueléticas. Unidades de Terapia Intensiva, Manipulação Osteopática. Foram selecionados 43 artigos, 35 excluídos por não serem relevantes ao tema e utilizados 08. O OMT em cuidados neonatais contribue na redução da duração da internação hospitalar, na resolução de problemas gastrointestinais, no manejo da dor, na melhoria da assimetria craniana, problemas relacionados a compressão nervo vago, minimizando e corrigindo disfunções somáticas e com papel importante na avaliação precoce. A escassez de artigos com maior rigidez metodológica e comprovação científica que mostrem os efeitos específicos da manipulação osteopática na população de prematuros e neonatos em UTI foi umas das limitações mais significativas desta revisão.
