Abstract

In this work, a study is carried out on the relationship between the vibration generated during the external turning process of ABNT 1020 carbon steel shafts and the parameters machining used during execution. The objective is to evaluate the influence of rotation (vc), tool feed (fz) and depth of cut (ap) on vibration measured in the turning process. two different rotations were used for turning the axles: 200 rpm and 400 rpm. keeping the rotation constant, different values of cutting tool advances were tested in a range of values from 0.109 mm/turn up to 0.151 mm/turn and depth of 1mm and 1.5mm. for the analysis of mechanical vibration, 1 accelerometer was installed near the output of the tool cutting tool/door-bit in order to evaluate and obtain the highest and best sensitivity of the signals measured with the vibration generated in the cutting process. By subsecutive, the diagnosis of the factorial assay, by Pareto's representation of the effects, by the analysis of the experiment using the Taguchi method, after an analysis of the graphs of the main effects, it became possible to ascertain that the vibration is more influenced by the cutting speed (vc), followed by the depth of cut (ap), while the advance (fz) has been slightly influenced.  The results showed us that the increase of any of the parameters will change significantly or not in the vibration of the tool.
