Extensa exostose óssea submandibular: relato de caso
Large buccal exostosis in the submandibular region: a case report

Exostoses são observadas clinicamente como proeminências ósseas encontradas em diferentes sítios da cavidade oral e mais raramente em outras regiões da face. Estas possuem, em sua grande maioria, tratamento conservador, sendo apenas tratado cirurgicamente em situações de limitação funcional ou estética. Este trabalho relata um caso atípico de uma extensa exostose submandibular em um paciente do sexo masculino de 48 anos, evoluindo durante 20 anos e comprometendo a estética facial do paciente. O tratamento de escolha foi exérese da lesão completa por acesso extra oral, seguida de osteoplastia para assim devolver a anatomia da mandíbula do paciente, devolvendo assim a estética, que era a principal queixa. A lesão foi enviada para analise histopatológica que confirmou as características de exostose, e o paciente teve, como resultado a devolução da sua estética e contorno facial sem complicações.
