A COVID-19, doença causada pelo vírus SARS-CoV-2, identificada pela primeira vez em Wuhan, China, em dezembro de 2019, acabou causando uma pandemia mundial que gerou um profundo impacto na sociedade (1). O espectro clínico desta infecção varia de assintomática a fatal, podendo ser caracterizado por insuficiência respiratória progressiva, levando a alterações cardiovasculares, respiratórias ou a morte (2).
