Uso da terapia fotodinâmica em lesões de mucosa bucal: uma revisão de literatura / Use of photodynamic therapy in oral mucosal lesions: a review of the literature

O objetivo deste estudo é revisar a literatura acerca do uso da TFD em lesões de mucosa bucal, verificando o impacto na redução da dor e na aceleração da cicatrização. Para a busca das evidências a serem incluídas no presente estudo, foram utilizadas as bases de dados PubMed, ScienceDirect, Medline e Lilacs. Foram também incluídos artigos relacionados ao tema, obtidos das referências bibliográficas de outros estudos relevantes. Foi realizada leitura por título, por resumo, e por fim, a leitura completa dos artigos. Com base nos resultados, é possível afirmar que a TFD é eficaz para o tratamento de diversas lesões de mucosa bucal. Além disso, a TFD é uma técnica indolor que possui efeito cicatrizante e possui mínimos efeitos colaterais. Portanto, sugere-se que sejam realizados mais estudos a fim de padronizar a dose do tempo de ação para cada uma das lesões e além disso, é necessário que existam mais estudos para tornar essa prática rotineira entre os cirurgiões-dentistas.
