Cystic mammary dysplasia is a benign and rare condition in domestic cats, frequently associated with hormonal disorders. The objective was to report a case of cystic mammary dysplasia in a young domestic cat in which remnant ovary syndrome was observed as the cause of the dysplasia. The patient presented with multiple nodules distributed along the mammary chain, with progressive growth and recurrent episodes of estrous behavior after ovariohysterectomy (OH). Abdominal ultrasonography, hematological exams, cytology, and biopsy were performed to confirm or rule out the clinical suspicions. Cytology showed features consistent with cutaneous cyst, while the biopsy confirmed the diagnosis of cystic mammary dysplasia. Exploratory celiotomy was performed, identifying remnant ovarian tissue in the left ovarian pedicle, followed by surgical correction and removal of the mammary cysts. In the postoperative period, an analgesic and anti-inflammatory protocol was instituted during hospitalization. The therapeutic protocol employed proved effective, providing satisfactory recovery of the patient. It is concluded that the association between clinical evaluation, complementary exams, and histopathological analysis is fundamental for definitive diagnosis and appropriate therapeutic approach for this disease.
