Bryophyllum pinnatum (Lam.) Oken is a medicinal species rich in phenolic compounds and flavonoids, metabolites associated with antioxidant activity and the modulation of inflammatory and metabolic processes. This study evaluated the antioxidant and pancreatic lipase inhibitory potential of leaf extracts from B. pinnatum. The ethanolic extract (EEBP) and hexane (HFBP), ethyl acetate (EFBP), and butanol (BFBP) fractions were investigated. Total phenolic and flavonoid contents were determined using the Folin-Ciocalteu and aluminum chloride complexation methods, respectively. Antioxidant activity was assessed using the DPPH, FRAP, and β-carotene/linoleic acid co-oxidation assays, whereas pancreatic lipase inhibitory activity was determined in vitro. Total phenolic and flavonoid contents ranged from 2.13 ± 0.20 to 28.14 ± 0.41 g/100 g and from 0.37 ± 0.03 to 7.64 ± 0.29 g/100 g, respectively. EFBP showed the highest activity in the DPPH (EC50 = 77.81 ± 0.47 µg/mL) and FRAP (EC50 = 84.52 ± 0.56 µg/mL) assays. In the β-carotene/linoleic acid assay, HFBP exhibited the strongest inhibition of lipid peroxidation (61.58 ± 0.49%). Against pancreatic lipase, BFBP and EFBP showed the highest inhibitory activities, with inhibition rates of 63.08 ± 2.06% and 52.97 ± 1.90%, respectively. B. pinnatum exhibited substantial antioxidant and pancreatic lipase inhibitory potential, suggesting that the chemical composition and polarity of the fractions may influence these activities and supporting further investigations into their potential relevance to metabolic disorders.
