Resumo

The diversity of Collembola is affected by changes in soil and they have been used as soil quality bioindicators. The objective of this study was to evaluate the diversity of springtail families using two different sampling methods, in a grassland vegetation area under restoration in the Pampa biome, with 4.5-year-old trees of Parapiptadenia rigida (Benth.) Brenan. In addition, the aim was to calculate the sample adequacy for the two methods evaluated in relation to the number of families. Field evaluation was carried out in July 2017 with the use of 16 Provid traps (fall trap) and 10 soil and litter monoliths. From Provid traps, individuals of four were captured, predominantly from the Entomobryidae family. In relation to the monoliths, the soil samples were submitted to the Berleze-Tullgren methodology and five families were found, predominantly of the Onychiuridae family. Considering the two sampling methodologies, the use of 16 Provid traps and 10 soil monoliths was considered sufficient for the evaluation of the diversity of Collembola families in this study. The use of two combined sampling methods increases the representativeness in surveying the diversity of Collembola families.
