The effects of commercial diets containing different crude protein levels (28%, 32%, and 42%) and feeding frequencies (two and four meals per day) on the growth performance and water quality of juvenile tambatinga cultured in a biofloc technology (BFT) system were evaluated over a 42-day period. The results showed that feeding frequency had a more pronounced effect during the initial stage of the culture period, whereas dietary crude protein level became the primary factor influencing growth during the intermediate and final stages. The diet containing 42% crude protein resulted in greater final weight and productivity but also increased nitrogenous compound concentrations and settleable solids while reducing water pH and alkalinity. In contrast, the diet containing 32% crude protein supported intermediate growth performance and provided a better balance between productive performance and water quality stability. Despite these changes, no mortality was observed throughout the experimental period, demonstrating the adaptability of tambatinga to culture under biofloc technology conditions.
