Resumo

Pumpkin seeds oil has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties that can influence lipid, glycemic, and hepatic metabolism. The indiscriminate use of synthetic testosterone analogs for aesthetic purposes can lead to increased serum testosterone levels, which may induce insulin resistance, obesity, and hepatic steatosis. Some studies are controversial about testosterone replacement therapy about maleficiant or beneficiant results in adiposity, hepatic metabolism and glicemic control. This review aims to evaluate the influence of pumpkin seed oil supplementation on lipid, hepatic, and glycemic metabolism in order to determine if it is capable to mitigate the damage caused by steroid hormones.
