Resumo

Corvidae are generalist and opportunistic foragers, but little is known about their fungivorous feeding habits. The study reports an instance of six Azure-jays (Cyanocorax caeruleus) feeding on Boletus edulis during process forage in southern Brazil. The mycophagic event occurred in the riparian zone of Rio dos Sinos, National Forest (FLONA) in São Francisco de Paula, Rio Grande do Sul state, southern Brazil.  We collected the fungi with predation signs for analysis under and identify taxonomic. A group of six adult birds were observed consuming five basidiocarps and preyed on all parts, including pileus and stipe. This report documented the first report on the mycophagic habit of this bird.
