Quail production has emerged as a promising activity within the poultry sector, mainly due to its high productive efficiency and rapid economic return. However, the expansion of intensive production systems requires the activity to advance not only economically but also in environmental, social, and technological dimensions. This review discusses the main challenges and opportunities to enhance sustainability in quail production, addressing topics such as management practices, nutrition, waste management, the use of digital technologies, and traceability along the production chain. Strategies that promote more rational use of natural resources, greater transparency of information, and improved sector competitiveness are also analyzed. Overall, evidence indicates that integrating innovation, supply chain organization, and environmental responsibility is essential to consolidate quail farming as a modern, efficient production system aligned with current market demands.
