Resumo

In most coffee-producing areas of Brazil, the conventional management of Coffea spp. has led to fertility losses and degradation of the soil. In this sense, the study objective was to evaluate microbiological and chemical changes in soil under Conilon coffee and rubber in intercropping and monoculture. Soil microbiological and chemical variables were analyzed in the layers 0 - 10 and 10 - 20 cm and subjected to multivariate and descriptive data analysis. The soil microbiological properties did not differ significantly between winter and summer. Under the studied conditions, the soil microbiological properties in the management systems of monoculture coffee and coffee intercropped with rubber differed little from those of rubber monoculture. With regard to the chemical properties, the phosphorus, potassium, sodium, zinc and boron soil concentrations were highest in the system of monoculture coffee.
