INTRODUÇÃO: A pandemia de COVID-19 evidentemente afetou a saúde mental. As crianças e os adolescentes são especialmente mais vulneráveis aos impactos dos eventos estressores e com isso estão mais susceptíveis ao desenvolvimento de problemas psicológicos e psiquiátricos. METODOLOGIA: Foi realizada uma pesquisa nas bases de dados MedLine e SciELO em setembro e outubro de 2020. Incluiu-se nesta revisão integrativa estudos qualitativos e quantitativos, revisões de literatura e estudos teórico-reflexivos em inglês ou português publicados em 2020, excluindo-se os que não analisaram crianças e adolescentes entre 2 a 24 anos. RESULTADOS: A partir da busca foram encontrados 247 artigos e após a aplicação dos critérios de inclusão e exclusão, além da leitura dos resumos, 11 foram selecionados. Fatores estressores como o distanciamento social, o fechamento das escolas e das universidades, a recessão econômica, a violência doméstica e as incertezas do curso da pandemia influenciaram negativamente a saúde mental das crianças e dos adolescentes, resultando em aumento da prevalência de transtornos psicossomáticos. CONCLUSÃO: Essa revisão aponta para a necessidade da rede de apoio baseada no suporte socioemocional para minorar os efeitos psicológicos da pandemia de COVID-19 nas crianças e adolescentes.
