Life-Saving System in Grain Silos / Sistema Salva Vidas em Silos Graneleiros

Abstract

The project aims to develop a security system, named "Moved System", to equip grain storage units, offering, in addition to the proposed system, the installation and on-site technical assistance for full operation. The Movediça system will be provided by thin steel cables cross-linked as a net, with PVC plastic outer layer, in order to avoid pathogenic proliferation and ensure greater durability to the material; will be located 1.5 m deep in relation to the surface of the grain mass, connected to pulleys and rails installed on the wall of bulk silos, in order to rescue and save people who, by chance, fall into the mass of grains without the PPE (personal protective equipment) previously recommended for carrying out activities at the place in question. The detection of a possible fall in the agglomerate will be by thermometric cables, arranged along the lifesaving network, covering the total area between the net and the surface of the grain mass. Upon detection of heat for a time greater than 8 seconds, the system will activate, an audible alarm will sound and the cables attached to the pulleys will rise at a low speed, avoiding bodily injury by crushing, breaking or cutting, rescuing the individual to an area above the grain surface. To avoid false alarms, the system will only activate after detection of bodies taller than 1 meter in height, disregarding pockets of heat per phytopathogenic action or small animals such as birds and rodents.
