Fatores associados à doença pulmonar obstrutiva crônica em idosos: uma revisão de literatura

A Doença Pulmonar Obstrutiva Crônica (DPOC) representa um desafio significativo na população idosa, comprometendo a qualidade de vida e funcionalidade. Esta revisão narrativa da literatura científica recente (2020-2025) explora os aspectos fisiopatológicos, clínicos, epidemiológicos e terapêuticos da DPOC em indivíduos com 60 anos ou mais. A análise de 32 artigos destaca a complexidade da doença, influenciada pelo envelhecimento biológico, comorbidades, fatores psicossociais e dificuldades no diagnóstico e adesão terapêutica. Discutem-se intervenções farmacológicas e não farmacológicas, bem como estratégias de prevenção e autogerenciamento. Conclui-se que a DPOC em idosos exige uma abordagem integral, interprofissional e centrada no paciente.
