Abstract

This study aimed to identify the types of exercise therapies that optimize functional outcomes in patients with multiple myeloma. An integrative literature review was conducted, including primary studies published in the last five years in Portuguese, English and Spanish. Only full-text articles available in the SciELO, BIREME, PubMed, MEDLINE, and PEDro databases were considered. A total of 38 articles were identified, of which only five met the inclusion criteria. The findings indicate that aerobic and resistance exercises are the primary therapeutic modalities for maintaining and enhancing functionality in patients with multiple myeloma. Additionally, exercise programs may incorporate stretching and should be personalized, individualized, and performed under professional supervision.
