Background and objetive: Damiana from California (Turnera difusa Willd) is mainly used in tea used since ancient times by the Mexicans, this plant is used as an aphrodisiac used in sexual impotence and infertility problems. Other antecedents are the findings who used lyophilized tissues of Damiana from California in piglets from 30 to 60 days and found that there was testicular development and an increase in the epididymis, which supposes that there are substances in the plant capable of to promote the development of both animals and the reproductive system. the objectives of this work were to assess the semen production and characteristics of boars used for Artificial Insemination. Materials and Methods: Six Pietrain Stallions used for artificial insemination of 1.5 - 2 years of age Treatments used: 0 mg of Damiana, 8 mg and 12 mg of lyophilized biostimulated Damiana. Semen extractions were performed twice a week, and blood extractions on days 0-14 and 21, before applying the biostimulator and from the anterior vena cava. The ejaculate evaluations were made to all the second weekly extractions made to the stallion. The distilled water used was the same used in dissolving the lyophilized biostimulator. Results: Dynamic ejaculate density = 0.509 [Motility percentage] + 0.476 [Sperm concentration]. Adjusted ejaculate temperature = 0.911 [Semen temperature]. NS p ≥ 0.05; Adjusted ejaculate volume = 0.744 [Semen volume] * p < 0.05. Conclusion: The efficiency has been increased by approximately 14% when injecting the animal with 8 and 12 mg of the biostimulator of Damiana de California (Turnera diffusa Willd).
