Desempenho clínico das próteses parciais removíveis implanto-suportadas (PPRIS) - revisão de literatura

O objetivo desta revisão de literatura é analisar a utilização de próteses parciais removíveis implanto-suportadas (PPRIS) como alternativa de tratamento para pacientes com edentulismo parcial. A busca bibliográfica foi realizada na base de dados PubMed, utilizando os termos "Implant-assisted removable partial denture", "Implant-Supported" e "Denture Partial Removable", no período de 1974 a 2024. Foram selecionados 33 estudos, incluindo relatos de casos clínicos, estudos retrospectivos e revisão de literatura. A revisão aborda as vantagens e desvantagens das PPRIS em comparação às próteses parciais removíveis convencionais. Os resultados indicam que as PPRIS podem proporcionar melhor retenção, maior estabilidade e uma função mastigatória mais eficiente, aumentando o conforto e a satisfação dos pacientes em relação às próteses convencionais. Além disso, contribuem para a preservação do osso alveolar, impactando positivamente a qualidade de vida. Relatos de intercorrências mecânicas foram limitados, incluindo afrouxamento de componentes protéticos, fratura da base de resina acrílica e fratura da estrutura metálica das PPRIS. No entanto, são necessários mais estudos clínicos longitudinais com um número maior de pacientes para confirmar esses achados e estabelecer diretrizes para a utilização das PPRIS na prática clínica.
