Síndrome de Kawasaki: revisão decenal sobre a patologia

A Síndrome de Kawasaki é uma inflamação aguda dos vasos sanguíneos que atinge predominantemente crianças com menos de 5 anos de idade. Esta condição é caracterizada por febre persistente, erupção cutânea, conjuntivite, inflamação das membranas mucosas, aumento dos linfonodos cervicais e inflamação de múltiplas artérias, especialmente as coronárias. A síndrome pode levar a complicações cardíacas graves, como aneurismas coronarianos, se não tratada adequadamente. O propósito deste estudo é realizar uma análise abrangente da literatura disponível sobre esta doença, abordando desde sua distribuição e frequência populacional até as abordagens terapêuticas. Além disso, este trabalho visa discutir os aspectos mais debatidos e controversos relacionados à patogênese, diagnóstico e manejo da Síndrome de Kawasaki, destacando os avanços recentes na pesquisa e as lacunas de conhecimento que ainda persistem.
