Características anatômicas relacionadas a uma intubação difícil em pacientes pré-operatórios / Anatomical characteristics related to a difficult intubation in preoperative patients

A intubação difícil é definida como processo pelo qual o profissional experiente apresenta mais de três tentativas ao realizar a intubação traqueal (IT) no paciente ou que a tentativa de IT dure mais que 10 minutos. Sabe-se também que essa dificuldade ocorre em cerca de 17% de todos os pacientes pré-operatórios. Portanto, essa revisão bibliográfica tem como objetivo explanar fatores de risco que podem corroborar para objeção dessa prática, bem como discorrer sobre métodos de identificação da IT difícil no momento de pré-operatório. Além disso, esse artigo dedica-se a explicar as opções de manejo adequado existentes para esses pacientes.
