Evidências atuais acerca da terapia medicamentosa utilizada em mulheres com leiomioma uterino / Current evidence on drug therapy used in women with uterine leiomyoma

INTRODUÇÃO: Leiomioma uterino é uma neoplasia benigna ginecológica comum que possui atualmente inúmeras formas de tratamento. Cresce atualmente a necessidade de uso de tratamento medicamentoso e, consequentemente, novos fármacos chegam ao mercado. OBJETIVO: Explicitar evidências atuais acerca de algumas classes específicas de fármacos no tratamento de leiomioma. METODOLOGIA: Trata-se de uma revisão narrativa de artigos do ano 2016-2020 realizada nas bases de dados MedLine, Lilacs e Capes. RESULTADOS: Os estudos utilizados constataram que os medicamentos Relugolix, Elagolix e o Acetato de Ulipristal (UPA) obtiveram resultados significativos na melhora de sintomas ocasionados pelos miomas uterinos. Cada medicamento deve ser usado de acordo com o quadro clínico e os objetivos do tratamento. DISCUSSÃO: Dada à prevalência dos leiomiomas muitos estudos são desenvolvidos nessa área visando encontrar melhores tratamentos medicamentosos para essa patologia. Este artigo discute, especificamente, os benefícios e prejuízos ligados ao uso de relugolix, elagolix e ulipristal. CONCLUSÃO: O tratamento para leiomioma uterino depende de vários aspectos, sendo desde a sintomatologia, idade, até a vontade de preservar a fertilidade da paciente. Assim, é imprescindível uma análise individualizada para a escolha do melhor tratamento e qualidade de vida.
